Step 1:
This is designed for Americans primarily. Yes, there are peoples all over the world who suffer much more oppression than those in the U.S. I couldn't write this in Ukraine, China, North Korea or even Russia. Well, I could, but it probably wouldn't work out too well for me. Here in the U.S. there is freedom enough still for me to (hopefully) get away with it.
I say "get away with it" not because I am doing anything wrong. This blog is a part of me fulfilling my civil responsibility as a member of a "representative" government to voice my opinions and to try to educate myself and fellow countrymen. Note the quotation marks around "representative", they are there for a reason.
The quotation marks are there because our government claims to be representative and yet we as people are disclosed very little information. A quick search will show you that even after the Freedom of Information Act, the powers at be still hide information from us (you don't believe those disclosed documents came with page after page of blacked out text do you?). Due to the Patriot Act the government, and I mean about any branch, bureau or the like, can institute marshal law without any check or balance. We do not run in the streets rioting because (aside from that being a very bad idea that would only cause harm and an idea that I will do anything within my power from preventing) is because it does not alter our everyday grind.
However, just because something doesn't cause you direct pain now does not make it right, nor does it mean it will not cause pain in the future. The companies and government official in power have gained those powers, the power to drive our markets up and down, the power to force what insurance we can use, the power to hide information from the people.
Information is, and always has been, power.
Step 1 in taking our liberty back, in taking our freedom back, and taking our lives back is to realize that it has been taken away in the first place.
I love America, I have faith in it and its people. This has caused me sleepless nights and heartache as I read Patrick Henry's last words, "Give me liberty or give me death." He was then hanged by British loyalists. Patrick Henry is one of the unsung heroes from our Revolutionary War, the war that resulted from unrepresentative government and resulted in the first Continental Congress which toiled to create a form of government that would ensure the life, liberty and property of all its citizens.
While our founding fathers are often over glorified, they were also men who VOLUNTEERED their time and money (many of which going bankrupt) to create a government for the people, by the people. Patrick Henry, a governor with everything to lose, sacrificed his life to stand up for his cause. Paul Revere, a silver smith with no political background but a wife and children, sacrificed his life to stand for OUR freedom. Many men and women risked and gave life and limb for OUR freedom.
WE are giving up everything they fought and died for every second. Every vote that isn't cast, every vote cast without proper research, every time WE complain about corporations "extorting" us and then give them OUR money or give the government OUR power. Every second that the powers that be hide information from US they are exhibiting THEIR POWER OVER US.
Step 1 isn't boycotting (but that is a step, it is the step our founding fathers took (the biggest step they took) and it is the biggest step we can take) it isn't forming a Constitutional Convention (also a step our founding fathers took and that we will one day have to take again) it is informing yourself. I have told you twice now, so if it doesn't stick shame on you not me.
The media and school will be where many go, and many already go, but Ted Turner decides what CNN airs not US, the government decides what schools must teach, Roger Ailes decides what Fox News airs NOT US. BUT WE CAN!
America still has hope, but we cannot live wishing for a better tomorrow if we are not willing to make a change today. If information is power (which it is, I said so earlier...unless you disagree in which case the comments are open to you) than an informed populace is the only thing we need to "Take it back!"
Silence Do-Well stands for a represented America, a REAL represented America. One where the NSA cannot infiltrate our records without warrant, one where the people know where their tax dollars are going and what they are being used for, at the very least a government that does not complicate Bills so that it is impossible to tell their true intention.
Some of you have started Step 1, Step 1 never ends. Some of you will never start Step 1 no matter how much you think you already have done so and beyond.
If the government reads this, and deems that I am of some sort of threat, I have no doubt I will be at Gitmo before a second post can ever be published. Hell, they could take this down at the blink of an eye. As long as this blog exists there is HOPE, it means that they haven't gotten all the power yet.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
Today, Congressmen spend a majority of their time in D.C. not in the states they represent. (How do they know what the people they represent think if they never see them, hear them, or know them).
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
Pres. Obama has been recorded saying that he does not care what Congress does about ObamaCare, he will not let them change it.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
NSA, CIA, HLS, DD, the cabinet, etc. (Not saying they don't have uses, but that they are abused)
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
The Patriot Act, Gitmo, Black Ops, etc.
I could keep quoting the Declaration of Independence and ways in which we are being abused the same way as our founding fathers, but I think you get the point. The principles we founded America on are just as much at risk now as they were then. WE MUST UPHOLD THESE PRINCIPLES TO BE SELF EVIDENT.
Step 1: Inform yourself. If WE do not realize that WE are LETTING OUR FREEDOM GO then WE have only proven that WE DON'T DESERVE IT.
